BC Hotel Trends October 2021

The BC hotel industry continued strong performance through September and October. As more residents stayed in BC, domestic travel was even stronger than it was in 2019.

Week of October 18-24

Average Domestic Overnight Visitation to BC for Week 42 was up 1% compared to the same week in 2019.
The Thompson Okanagan, Vancouver Island and Vancouver, Coast & Mountains saw an increase in visitation when comparing Week 41 (Oct 11-17) to Week 42 (Oct 18-24).
The Cariboo Chilcotin Coast, Kootenay Rockies and Northern BC saw a decrease.
BC increased by 2.1% when comparing Week 41 to Week 42.
